What is life like at Job Corps?

We understand that being away from family and friends can be difficult; that's why those who
apply and succeed in Job Corps are truly remarkable! Life on a Job Corps center is just a matter
of adjustment. You'll feel at home in no time. In addition to the educational and vocational opportunities
that Job Corps offers, there's a whole lot more. Where else can you earn while you learn? That's right;
you earn a living allowance while you get your High School Diploma/GED and learn the vocational
skills that'll start your journey to a new career. Remember, this is the best time of your life! At Job
Corps you can not only obtain your HSD/GED and a career, but you can make lifelong friends as well!

Dormitories

Students at Job Corps share dorm-type rooms with one to seven roommates of the same gender.
You will receive a set of bed linens, bath towels, and a locker with a lock and key to store personal
belongings upon arrival. These items must be returned upon completion of the program. You and
your roommates will be asked to keep your room clean, your beds made, and to help with the
cleaning of the dorms.

Daily Schedule

During the day, students attend career classes and/or academic classes to get their GED or high
school diploma, as well instruction to get their driver's license.

Free Time

Job Corps offers a variety of additional activities such as community service projects, arts and crafts,
cultural awareness programs, field trips to area attractions (mall, movies, sporting events, concerts,
