What is Job Corps?

Job Corps is the Federal Government's largest, most established, and most comprehensive free
volunteer residential training and education program for economically-disadvantaged youth ages
16-24. For over 40 years, Job Corps has trained more than 2 million young people with the skills
and work ethics they need to start and continue their careers. We've been called "the most
successful federal job training program in history" for good reason; Job Corps works!

The purpose of the Job Corps program is to help eligible young people who can benefit from a
concentrated and thorough program to become more responsible, employable, and productive
citizens. Job Corps offers students the opportunity to get their high school diploma or GED while
receiving the career training of their choice.
